The Asian Studies WWW Monitor (ISSN 1329-9778) , an electronic journal founded and edited by Dr T. Matthew Ciolek of the RSPAS, The Australian National University, was established 21 April 1994. The associated mailing list 'asia-www-monitor' (originally operating from the 'coombs.anu.edu.au' address) was established on the 6th Jun 1994. Some fourteen years later, on the 9th May 2008, the list moved to its current address, i.e. to the 'anu.edu.au' server. The journal - issued in the two parallel, web [http://coombs.anu.edu.au/asia-www-monitor.html] and email [asia-www-monitor at anu.edu.au], formats - is a pioneering and the only publication of this kind in the world. It specializes in abstracts and reviews of new/updated online resources of significance to the research, teaching and communications dealing with Asian Studies. The periodical forms a key element of the global, cooperative project Asian Studies WWW Virtual Library [http://coombs.anu.edu.au/WWWVL-AsianStudies.html].
