About diendan-tuoitre
English (USA)

Welcome to Dien Dan Tuoi Tre (Youth Forum) - the e-list for those interested in the issues affecting young people in Viet Nam.

Though the socio-economic developments of the last 15 years have raised the living standards of young people, they face a range of new challenges. Vietnamese youths are confronted with a growing HIV/AIDS infection rate, high unemployment and underemployment, new lifestyle risks, and adapting to a rapidly changing cultural and social environment. With 53% of the population under 25, it is necessary that young people are given opportunities to share views, ideas and experiences. We hope that Dien Dan Tuoi Tre becomes a valuable platform for discussion and debate, as well as a place to post articles of interest or to publicize activities, competitions and events. We hope that the ideas and networks shared here will help to empower the youth of Viet Nam.

This is not a one-way communication tool. We want to get lively discussion and contributions from all of you. This e-list is not moderated so any message you post will go directly to all subscribers. Please keep your comments appropriate.

For those of you who are too busy to read all of the messages, we will also provide regular summaries of discussions. These can be identified by the subject heading - [summary].
