|
Welcome to the PACIFIC-ISLANDS electronic forum on Pacific-Islands@anu.edu.au
This Forum was first established in 1994 and fostered by the Pacific Island Liaison Centre, of the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies (RSPAS) at the Australian National University to provide an easily accessible world-wide communications channel and a central electronic archive for anyone working on or interested in the study and documentation of the Pacific Islands region.
Note: Between Mar 1994 till Jun 2006 the list was called "Pacific-Islands-L@coombs.anu.edu.au"
To see the collection of prior postings to the list,
visit the Pacific-Islands
Archives.
(The current archive is only available to the list
members.)

Using Pacific-Islands
|
Contributions by Forum members should be sent to
pacific-islands@anu.edu.au. Please note:
- English is the preferred language of communication of this Forum.
- Contributions to the Forum are moderated to a certain extent by the List Owner. Submissions to the forum will be sent to all subscribed members, and a copy automatically archived.
Hints on writing contributions to the Forum:
- If you are reporting findings or research results, treat the text as if it were a short note/abstract to a professional journal.
- It is best to make questions and queries for specific information short and to the point; ask the question first, then go into detail to provide the background or context of the query.
- Factual discussion of matters raised in any communication is encouraged; however, if the response is of a personal nature, then a direct reply not using the Forum is probably a better tactic.
- Bibliographic information is always welcome and such contributions, if submitted, will be archived at the ANU via http://coombs.anu.edu.au/WWWVL-PacificStudies.html
