Information on the e-list: volunteer-vlc - Voluntarism in Viet Nam and the Region Purpose and function Improving and increasing the involvement of volunteers has emerged as an effective strategy towards development. The values of free will, commitment, engagement and solidarity are the foundations of volunteerism. Volunteering brings benefit to the individual volunteer. It makes important contributions, economically, as well as socially. It contributes to creating social cohesion and capital, through helping to build trust and reciprocity among citizens. This e-list aims to empower volunteer involving organizations and individual volunteers by providing a platform to share information, to post requests, to debate issues related to volunteering, and to network. How does the e-list work? The e-list is not moderated. This means that when a query or message is received, your message goes directly to the entire list. You and other members are invited to volunteer your inputs and experience by return e-mail. The messages will be stored in the archive. Everyone is welcome to join and contribute to the e-list! How do I subscribe/unsubscribe? Subscribe, unsubscribe and set holiday options below (your password is in your monthly reminder). How do I Post a Message? To send a message to the e-list, simply send an e-mail with your inputs to: volunteer-vlc@anu.edu.au *** REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR LOCATION AND TITLE IN THE MESSAGE *** People like to know the background of individual contributors. - Please keep the size of your message and possible attachments as small as possible, as not everyone may strong internet access. - When sending messages, it is always helpful to title the subject of your message with the country and a full descriptive title relating to the issue being raised. - Remember that by hitting the reply button, your message automatically goes to the entire list. If you want to answer someone individually, retype their name. - When you respond to a message, please keep the original subject heading intact. Using volunteer-vlc
To post a message to all the list members, send email to volunteer-vlc@anu.edu.au. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to volunteer-vlc
Subscribe to volunteer-vlc by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
