The Resource Management in Asia-Pacific (RMAP) Program has an ARC
Linkage Project on Creating Empowered Communities: Gender and
Sustainable Livelihoods in a Coal Mining Region in Indonesia.  The
project, involves incorporating recent Gender and Development principles
in community development work done by the company through the
development of a set of training materials and toolkits for use by
company staff, a series of assessments and evaluation of existing
projects, and new project
development that takes into the needs and interests of women living
within the mine-affected communities.

Under the general direction of the Chief Investigator, Dr Kuntala
Lahiri-Dutt, the Research Assistant will carry out various aspects of
research, report writing, maintaining the project website, arranging and
participating in seminars and conferences and undertake administrative
tasks when required.

The successful applicant will need to show initiative and be able to
meet deadlines.
