Nick Evans (Linguistics, RSPAS) and Alan Rumsey (Anthropology RSPAS)
will be offering an informal course in linguistic field methods this
year. The course is intended especially for ANU PhD students in
linguistics and anthropology who will be starting fieldwork this year in
areas where relatively undocumented languages are spoken, but anyone
else who would like to participate is welcome to. We will be working
with a speaker of Dumo, a Papuan language spoken in the Vanimo area at
the north-western corner of Papua New Guinea. The meeting times and
places are:

Tuesdays, 2:00-4:00 in Coombs Seminar Room E

Thursdays, 3:00-4:30 in Coombs Extension, Room 1:04

The first meeting will be on Tuesday, April 8.

If you would like to participate, please contact Alan Rumsey at
