Dear fellow PhD students,
After having now completed the anthropology theory seminar for entering
PhD candidates, I and a few others were thinking that it would be
beneficial to get another theory reading group going in the near future.
The group will be open to both pre- and post-field students, and will be
aimed both at going over classic texts as well as providing an
introduction to either more contemporary or obscure readings that we
haven't yet engaged with.
This message is being sent with the simple goal of (1) establishing how
many people are interested; (2) how frequently people would like to meet
(either weekly or every other week) and when in the week is convenient;
and, lastly, (3) what theoretical material people are interested in and
would like to cover.
From here, we can begin to jointly develop a reading list, location,
and meeting schedule for the group.
Hope all is well and hear from you soon.
Best wishes,
Fraser Macdonald
