Graeme Gill 'Regime Change and the Significance of Bodies'
A variety of symbolic issues are raised when there is a change in 
political regime. One such issue that became prominent with the fall  of
communism was what to do about bodies associated with the former  regime.
Two types of issue arose in this regard. One concerned the  body of regime
founders, like Lenin whose corpse lay in a mausoleum  in Red Square on
public display. The second concerned the bodies of  those who had been
repressed under the former regime. This paper will  explore how these
issues have been handled and the implications this  has had for future
development.
