Human Relations Area Files (HRAF), a non-profit organization at Yale
University, would like to provide you with temporary free access to
its eHRAF World Cultures/Archaeology databases. The eHRAF databases
are ideal for research and teaching, especially for those researching
either individual societies or conducting cross-cultural studies on
particular subjects.
TEMPORARY ACCESS TO HRAF'S CROSS-CULTURAL DATABASES:

DATABASE DESCRIPTIONS:
The eHRAF World Cultures/Archaeology are Web-based, multi-cultural
databases for scholars, researchers, and students with an interest in
cultural diversity. The annually-growing eHRAF databases are unique
in that the information is organized into cultures, ethnic groups and
archaeological traditions and the full-text documents (books,
articles, and dissertations) are subject-indexed at the paragraph-level.
The eHRAF World Cultures database contains nearly half a million
pages of information on all aspects of cultural and social life with
diverse topics ranging from bringing up children to religious beliefs
to causes and cures of diseases. The eHRAF Archaeology database
includes "classics" such as the Mayan and Scythian cultures. eHRAF
serves as excellent research and teaching tool for cross-cultural
studies. As a multi-cultural database, eHRAF appeals to many academic
disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, medicine, and any
other discipline with an interest in cultural diversity.
UPCOMING SAA MEETING
Are you attending the upcoming 74th annual meeting of the Society for
American Archaeology (SAA) in Atlanta, Georgia, from April
22-26th? If so, HRAF would like to invite you to stop by the HRAF
booth # 305 for a demonstration of the eHRAF databases.
SEMESTER-LONG TRIAL:
If you and your students would like to try eHRAF for an entire
semester, why not contact HRAF for a free semester-long trial? A
semester-long trial can be set up by the institutions library either
via password or IP authentication and would enable all users to
access the eHRAF databases from all on- and off-campus locations
during a semester.
Now academic institutions can enjoy savings up to 70% in membership
dues. Please contact me if you would like to find out more on
membership, or for any other questions regarding the eHRAF databases.
Sincerely,
Christiane Cunnar
