Prof Ghassan Hage - Master Class

Dear All,

We still have a few places remaining for the Master Class with Prof.
Hage. Please contact Assa Doron to register (For details see below)

We are currently arranging for a master class to be given by Professor
Ghassan Hage (Future Generation Professor of Anthropology and Social
Theory, University of Melbourne)

The class will take place over three hours on the 6 May (3-6pm, Seminar
room C, Coombs bldg) and is mainly designed for ANU Anthropology Phd/
M/Phil students. As we have limited places, we ask of you to register in
advance and commit to reading his article (Hage, G. 2005. A not so
multi-sited ethnography of a not so imagined community. /Anthropological
Theory/ 5, no. 4: 463-475.) which offers both methodological and
theoretical insights (PDF available on the ANU e-journals). We also ask
you to provide a 2 page summary of you thesis two weeks prior so that
Ghassan better engage with the work of the student involved in the
workshop.

The workshop will comprise of a short presentation by Ghassan followed
by an open discussion and brief personal presentations by students about
their own work.

For an overview of Prof Ghassan Hage’s work, see:

Please send your 1-2 page summary to Assa Doron (assa.doron at anu.edu.au)
by Friday 1 May.
