Freeman/Mead Put to Music
Derek Freeman, a former ANU anthropologist, is featured in a new musical
work being performed next week at the Street Theatre (Cnr Childers St and
University Avenue). I though you might be interested.
Freeman's arguments with the works of Margaret Mead are at the centre of
this concert/theatre work that takes its music from the recorded voices of
Freeman and Mead, creating melody from their spoken intonation (some of my
similar work with the voice of Gough Whitlam is here:

Others featured are Richard Dawkins, Sue Blackmore, John Tooby, Leda
Cosmides, Steven Pinker, Richard Lewontin, E. O. Wilson, Peter Singer and
Steve Jones.
I'm writing as I believe you may find this concert - a rare event -
interesting and enjoyable.
Nature/Nurture, composed and performed by myself, is at the Street Theatre,
2-5 April at 8:30pm.
