The Menzies Centre for Health Policy is pleased to announce its 4th
annual Emerging Health Policy Research Conference.  The conference will
be held at the University of Sydney on Wednesday, 19th August and will
showcase the work in progress of current doctoral and early career
research workers.

Below is the call for abstracts.

Call for Abstracts 

The Menzies Centre for Health Policy invites you to join us for the 4th
annual 

Emerging Health Policy Research Conference 

The conference will showcase the work in progress of current doctoral
and early career research workers. We invite research workers from all
areas of health policy - including international health, health systems,
history of public health, indigenous health, health economics and health
promotion - to submit an abstract of their presentation. 
  
Keynote Speaker: 

John Wyn Owen, Chair, Board of Governors, University of Wales Institute,
Cardiff; former Secretary of the Nuffield Trust; and former
Director-General of NSW Health 

Participation in the Emerging Health Policy Research Conference will
provide an opportunity to: 

* discuss health policy responses to current local, national and global
health challenges; 
* present 'in progress' health policy research to a wide audience of
students, academics and practitioners; 
* discuss new ideas and identify opportunities for collaboration across
disciplinary boundaries. 

Previous conferences have attracted people from a wide variety of
backgrounds including industry, government, academic institutions and
NGOs. 

Current doctoral and early career research workers should submit their
abstracts of no more than 250 words by Friday, 19 June to
mchp at med.usyd.edu.au or fax (02) 93515204 
  
Instructions for Abstract Submission 

Each abstract should be a maximum of 250 words and should include: 

* a short title (up to 10 words) and the names of the author(s)
(asterisk the presenting author) 
* the presenter's institution/organisation, address, email, and
telephone 
* no tables, charts, graphs, or references 
* up to 5 keywords to assist organisers in streaming papers 
* a short biography of the presenter (maximum 50 words). This
information will be used by the session chair for introduction purposes
and will be published on the Conference website. 

Submission: Submit your abstract by Friday, 19 June to
mchp at med.usyd.edu.au or fax (02) 93515204.

Acceptance: You will be advised of acceptance or non-acceptance by
Thursday, 9 July.

Presentation Format: It is anticipated presentations will be allocated
20 minutes, including 5 minutes question time.

Registration: All presenters will be automatically registered for the
conference. There will be no fee for presenters.

Publication: All accepted abstracts will be reproduced on the Conference
website.
