Hi all,

I'm now advertising for 2 tutors for ANTH1003 Global and Local for
semester II 2009.

Last year tutors taught 3 tutes each.

People who haven't tutored before are encouraged to apply. However you
will be expected to do the Graduate Teaching Program (GTP) during the
semester.

Ideally I'm looking for people whose research is relevant to
Globalisation (writ large) and the themes covered in the course. Tutors
are welcome to propose their own lecture topics and present a guest
lecture if they like.

Lecture topics for last year included:

Affluenza, Overconsumption, Fairtrade

The Social Relations in our Clothes

Us as consumers: taste and identity

Consuming the West in Asia (and vice-versa)

Global Media flows

virtual communities

Tourism

The End of suburbia? Relocalization

sport & spectacle

So if you think you fit the bill please send me a brief email and I'll
give you access to last year's course website so you can get a better
idea of what's involved. Then we can make a time to talk.

Cheers,

Ashley
