Dear friends,
My contacts at the DAFF-BRS-SSP (Bureau of Rural Sciences, Social
Sciences Program) have a temporary job available for someone with social
analysis abilities and NVIVO experience. They are looking for someone to
work two days per week for a few months (to be negotiated). This
temporary position entailing NVIVO data analysis, setting up interviews
and focus groups and making some basic travel arrangements.
Although the specifics of the project were not given to me, you would be
working with Dr Anna Carr. I worked with her and her group last year on
a wide of range projects which included the allure of exotic animals
within Australia, the relationship between climate change and farming
communities, and mapping the social networks of farmers in order to see
how they obtain their technical expertise. On a personal note, these are
great people to work with and a fantastic opportunity for building up
your resume. Although I came to Australia to work with Indigenous people
and their art, I found my time at the BRS illuminating and very
rewarding. (I would sign up if I didn't already have a part-time job.)
If interested, please contact Dr. Anna Carr via email at:
Anna.Carr at brs.gov.au. Be prepared to talk about your qualifications. The
BRS hires their temporary workers through Kowalski Recruitment but
coordinating a contract with them will be quite easy.
I encourage interested parties to apply.
Regards,
Gretchen
