Hey guys,
I hope you're all looking forward to another exciting week of bridge!

Tomorrow, as usual, we will be meeting upstairs in the ANU Refectory
for more lunchtime bridge. New players are especially welcome as we
will be running more lessons for people who haven't played before.

Lunchtime Bridge
When:	1-2pm Thursdays
Where:	Upstairs in the ANU Refectory (next to Asian Bistro)
As always, games are flexible and we include people as they arrive so
don't worry if you can't be there for the whole time.

Bridge on the Beach
When:	12 - 14 March (we'll leave on Friday afternoon)
Where:	Batemans Bay
RSVP:	8 March!
Forget about uni for a weekend and come to the beach!
Don't worry if you haven't played bridge before because we'll pair new
players with an experienced partner to show you how it all works.
We officially have funding (!) to cover entry and accommodation which
means it should cost about $50 all up for the weekend (still
finalising exact details).
We will need to start booking accommodation and entering teams, so
please let me know if you are interested by the end of the week.

Friday Bridge
When:	4pm Friday
Where:	Canberra Bridge Club, Deakin
A group of junior players meets regularly on Friday afternoons at the
Canberra Bridge Club to play cards and learn more about the game (btw,
juniors for bridge = u26). This session will be great for anyone who
wants to learn more about bidding and partnership agreements. This
will be particularly good for anyone considering coming to Batemans Bay.
Let me know if you would like a lift to Deakin.

If you would like to test your skills in a real bridge competition,
stay for the club session at 7.30pm...

Walk-in Pairs Competition
When:	7.30pm Friday
Where:	Canberra Bridge Club, Deakin
Cost:	$5 (for students)
People play in bridge competitions in Canberra every night of the
week! You will need a partner to play, so let me know if you would
like to play.

Don't forget to join our Facebook group. Although we'll keep sending
event notices to this mailing list, you can find more comprehensive
details for events on the group, and I am slowly putting up lesson
hands and bridge puzzles.

So far no one has solved all nine double-dummy bridge puzzles, so the
bottles of wine are still up for grabs (perhaps I need a better prize!).

Feel free to email with any question about bridge or about any of our
events.
Cheers,
Bec Thornberry
