First Notice:

The second joint international conference of
IGCP 588: "Preparing for Coastal Change" and
INQUA 1001: "Late Quaternary records of coastal evolution"

Thailand
28th November 2011 (Monday) - 2nd December 2010 (Friday)

The joint IGCP 588 "Preparing for coastal change" and INQUA1001 "Late Quaternary records of coastal evolution" aims to integrate contemporary processes, impacts and responses of coastal environments to changes in sea level and extreme events, with an overarching focus on human influences and reactions to coastal processes. The project includes examination of past and present coastal dynamics and evolution, with the additional emphasis on predictive modelling of the coastal response to changing climates, anthropogenic impacts and natural hazards.

With this in mind we are pleased to announce the second IGCP588 "Preparing for Coastal Change" joint meeting with the INQUA 1001: "Late Quaternary records of coastal evolution". The meeting will be held at the Dept. of Geology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Phatumwan, Bangkok, Thailand

There will also be financial support for a limited number of:
- PhD candidates,
- Early Career Researchers (achieved their PhD in the last 5 years), and
- Researchers from Developing Countries.

A conference web-page and registration details will be available in the near future.
