<br />The Development Policy Centre is a new research centre at the
Crawford School. We analyse and promote discussion of aid and
development policy, with a focus on Australia, the Pacific and Asia.
<br />We seek to appoint a postdoctoral fellow with a strong commitment to
high-quality, policy-based research and a PhD in economics, public
policy or a related field

<br />The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific leads intellectual
engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and
contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international
standard for scholarship concerning the region.
<br />The Crawford School of Economics and Government (School) is the
ANU’s graduate public policy school, serving and influencing Australia,
Asia and the Pacific through advanced policy research and professional
education.
<br />The Development Policy Centre is a new research centre at the
Crawford School. We analyse and promote discussion of aid and
development policy, with a focus on Australia, the Pacific and Asia.

<br />Position Dimension & Relationships:
<br />
<br />The appointee will maintain a strong research profile and make a
vigorous contribution to current analysis and debate in the Centre’s
fields of research with a focus on Australia, Asia and the Pacific. In
doing so, the appointee will support the School’s research priorities
and collaborate with colleagues within the College of Asia and the
Pacific to further the College’s strategic objectives.

<br />Role Statement:
<br />1. Undertake research and publish original, innovative results in
high-quality nationally and internationally refereed journals; present
research at academic seminars and national and international
conferences; contribute to existing research projects undertaken by the
Development Policy Centre; initiate new research projects within the
Centre and with colleagues from the College of Asia and the Pacific.
<br />2. Assist with the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies.
<br />3. Participate in and initiate outreach activities including:
contributing to the Devpolicy blog; participating in public and
stakeholder-specific events; developing networks with relevant research
institutes and centres, media, government bodies and non-government
organisations.
<br />4. <br />2.Evidence of high-quality research in an academic or policy
environment, supported by publications and presentation of research at
academic or policy-based workshops and conferences.
<br />3.Evidence of ability to produce high-quality analysis and contributions to current debate.
<br />4.Willingness and ability to contribute to outreach activities
including initiating and participating in public and
stakeholder-specific events; developing networks with relevant research
institutes and centres, media, government bodies and non-government
organisations.
<br />5.Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of
staff and students in a cross-disciplinary academic environment and to
foster inclusive, respectful and productive working relationships with
staff, students and colleagues at all levels.
