<p class="MsoNormal">'Breaking Walls of Words: using photo elicitation to understand cross cultural representations of depression' is a pilot study funded by the Social Equity Institute as part of the University of Melbourne's interdisciplinary seed funding
initiative. The project is working with a small group of Vietnamese and East Timorese clients with depression to understand their experiences of living with depression by asking participants to take photos of their everyday experiences of depression and conducting
interviews about these photos. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We seek a bilingual research assistant fluent in English and Hakka to assist with the project. The RA will need to be confident with phoning participants to explain the study, coordinating meetings between the researcher, RA and participants
to complete consent procedures, liaise with participants when photo stage is complete and coordinate meetings to schedule interviews, interpret researcher and participant information at all stages of the research process. The interview material will be professionally
transcribed however we also expect the RA to complete checking of the transcription between audio and written file for accuracy. We need someone who can commence immediately. The rate of pay is $35.00 per hour with an anticipated 50 hours of research assistance
required.<o:p></o:p></p>
