Vanuatu, New Caledonia), Timor Leste or West Papua.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black;background:white">SSGM is a vibrant research unit, situated in the School of International, Political and Strategic Studies in the ANU College of
Asia and the Pacific. It is a leading international centre for applied multidisciplinary research on contemporary Melanesia, Timor-Leste and the wider Pacific. From its inception SSGM was envisaged as a dedicated group of scholars with deep knowledge of countries
in the region and a commitment to richly textured long-term empirical research. In addition to its scholarly goals, SSGM maintains a strong commitment to active engagement with policy communities in the region and Australia.</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";background:white"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black;background:white">Applications are invited from suitably qualified scholars from the region, with ongoing research interests in Melanesia (PNG,
Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia), Timor-Leste or West Papua, who are keen to purse a program of writing and publication in a supportive and vibrant intellectual environment. We are seeking scholars with backgrounds in political science, anthropology,
human geography, law, gender studies and development studies, whose research interests complement the existing expertise within the Program, which is organised around four thematic clusters.</span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";background:white"> <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>
