The TAPJA Editorial Board is pleased to announce that the winner of the Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology's Nadel Essay Prize for 2013 is Judith Bovensiepen, for her paper "Paying for the Dead: On the Politics of Death in Independent Timor-Leste."<br>
<br>
Judith's paper will be published in the Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology Volume 15 Issue 2 2014.<br>
<br>
The Nadel Essay Prize celebrates excellence in ethnographic writing relating to the Asia Pacific region, including Australia. This annual prize, inaugurated in 2011 to commemorate 60 years of Anthropology at the Australian National University, is named after S.F. Nadel, who was appointed Foundation Professor of Anthropology in 1951.<br>

The winner will receive a prize of $250 and a year's subscription to the Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology.<br>
<br>
The deadline for submissions for the 2014 Nadel Essay Prize is 31 October 2014.<br>
