VietNamNet Bridge - The U.S Faculty Scholar Grants programme for the
academic year 2009 - 2010 will include teaching activities related to the
teaching programme that will begin from July 2009 and end by August 31st,
2009.
The Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF) has announced a call for proprosals
for the VEF educational exchange programme, entitled "U.S Faculty Scholar
Grants".
The VEF mission is to build the bi-lateral relationship between the U.S
and Vietnam through educational exchanges.
The objectives of the programme are to contribute to capacity building in
science and technology in Vietnam, to help Vietnamese institutions address
specific educational challenges, and to build positive relationships
between U.S and Vietnamese higher education institutions and faculty
members.
Applicants for this programme must be U.S citizens, holding an academic
position of Associate Professor, Professor, or Emeritus.
The applicants submits a proposal to VEF to each in English at a Vietnam
university for one or two full academic terms. Teaching may take place
either in Vietnam via face-to-face teaching or by interactive, real-time
video-conferencing from the U.S.
The fields authorized for this teaching programme are the sciences,
engineering, mathematics, medicine, and technology. Courses may be at the
undergraduate or graduate level.
Each proposal selected for funding will receive a grant from VEF of up to
55,000 USD. Vietnamese host university or universities may provide direct
or in-kind financial support and set the teaching conditions. The U.S
University may also provide direct or in-kind financial support.
Proposals for programme may be submitted from January 1st to March 2nd,
2009, using the VEF online Applicant for VEF U.S. Faculty Scholar Grants
available at http://application .vef.gov/usfs.
