Regional Workshop on Hazardous Chemicals Management
Technology
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - The program has been designed to provide 
participants with the fundamental and advanced knowledge in hazardous chemicals 
management together with sharing information among participating countries.
The Capacity Strengthening on Hazardous Chemicals Management Project at the 
Asian Institute of Technology, in cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City 
University of Technology, will organize a regional workshop on Hazardous 
Chemicals Management on October 27-31, 2008 at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The program has been designed to provide participants with the fundamental and 
advanced knowledge in hazardous chemicals management together with sharing 
information among participating countries. This workshop will cover topics 
related to hazardous chemicals management including management, treatment 
technology and policy especially on persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in 
developing countries.

The organizing committee is currently accepting abstracts for this conference. 
Abstracts should describe the theme and content of the proposed paper, should 
address on the workshop topic. Interested participants can send their abstracts 
by 31 July 2008 via email to suthirat at ait.ac.th. For more details, please 
contact suthirat at ait.ac.th.

The “Capacity Strengthening on Hazardous Chemicals Management” project is being 
conducted by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), the Foundation for 
Scientific and Industrial Research of Norway (SINTEF) and the Pollution Control 
Department, Thailand, with support from the Norwegian Government. The project 
aims to enhance capacity building on hazardous chemicals management in 
developing countries especially countries of South and Southeast Asia.
