Below is a link to a new Population Action International working paper
that explores the relationship between population and climate change. It
is the first in a three part series that will build the knowledge base
on the role of population dynamics in climate change mitigation and
adaptation. The working paper explains:

• The historic relationship between population growth and
greenhouse gas emissions

• Weaknesses in previous population projection models and
anticipated population trends

• The demographic trends that exacerbate vulnerability,
particularly for people in developing countries

• Recommendations for family planning and reproductive health
care programs that can help solve the problem

“How Do Recent Population Trends Matter to Climate Change?” can be
accessed here:

Please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to pass it along.

Sincerely,
