Our Programme in Quang Tri Province, Central Vietnam is currently
looking for a Short Term Consultant in Industrial Art Designing  with
Vietnamese Nationality or a regional expert living in Vietnam for a
seven-weeks assignment starting as soon as possible. Three out these
seven weeks should be spend on conducting training .

The consultancy has the following objectives:

1.   Assist the districts of Dakrong in development of Pacoh and Van
Kieu traditional textile with market orientation.

2.       Pacoh and Van Kieu ethnic groups in selected communes of
Dakrong are capable and confident to expand their product lines to tap
the outside markets

3.        District Section of Culture and Information and Section of
Industry Trade and Tourism in Dakrong better understand the development
approach for Pacoh and Van Kieu brocade products as well as the
supportive (not leading) role that they could play.

The expected outputs are:
1.   Traditional textile patterns of Pacoh and Van Kieu analysed
2.    Alternative inputs for the Pacoh and Van Kieu Weaving style
identified that will allow the people to better tap the different
markets of interior decoration and/or commodities, through
diversification of the production
3.  Training program that is suitable for the ethnic minority groups in
Dakrong developed and implemented
4.   Pro-poor business link between the Pacoh and Van Kieu production
groups to potential buyers identified
5.    These business linkages are adoptable by the groups, the Section
of Trade and Tourism, Section of Culture and Information, or other
active organizations in the local areas
6.      Artisans motivated to engage in the production, for instance
through  exposing them to other applications of fabric in interior
design (slides, pictures, visit to Hue)
