Dear all,
I would like to invite you to the next lunch meeting of the DCC. It
will be held on Thursday March 6^th at 12 noon at the Press Club, 59A Ly
Thai To, Hanoi.
Mr Andrew Bruce, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for
Migration (IOM) in Viet Nam will provide an overview of migration issues
affecting Vietnam today.
With its economy expanding rapidly, Vietnam's cities are experiencing a
large influx of workers from the rural areas to fuel this expansion.
Providing services to workers, particularly housing, and education for
their children, is a major challenge for government. On the
international front the largest migration flow is labor migrants going
to jobs abroad, with some 80,000 doing so each year and an estimated
400,000 working abroad in some 40 countries.
This meeting will also be a chance for you to network with other
members and enjoy a delicious 3-course lunch.
Please RSVP to DCC Vice-Chair, Ms. Minh, at director at idea.org.vn
<mailto:director at idea.org.vn> by Monday 3 March. Cost $12 for members
who book by 1 March; $15 for late bookings or "walk-ups"
Chuck Searcy
Chair of AmCham DCC
