     You are welcome to join us in our monthly Art-Talk programme no 2
     with the topic

      *“Community Art-A Talk to Phan Y Ly”.*


     Community Arts is something fairly new in Vietnam . As one of few
     Vietnamest artists pioneering in this field during the last few
     years, Phan Y Ly will give a talk in the programme Art Talk No 2
     coordinated by GreenZoom in collaboration with United Nations
     International School in Hanoi with the topic:

     “Community Art-Talk to Phan Y Ly”.


     This is the chance for Vietnamese and international young people to
     know more about Community Arts, Arts in Development in Vietnam ,
     Phany Y Ly also shares her own experience and stories when
     implementing her fantastic community-art projects. The programme
     also features two short films “Green Meadow” (30’) from “My life, my
     views” project carried out by Phan Y Ly and a group of children from
     Middle Bank on the Red River , and “Hitkhoi” (5’) a product from
     GreenZoom’s “My Message” project. The interesting thing is that both
     of these projects have been awarded during Vietnam Innovation Day
     2006, 2007 under the sponsorship of the World Bank in Vietnam .



     Date: 9h am Saturday 08/11/2008

     Venue: Drama Room-United Nations International School –Phu Thuong,
     Tay Ho, Hanoi

     The language is Vietnamese (with English translation for
     international participants)



     The programme is free and open for everyone. A bus will be arranged
     to transport participants from GreenZoom Open Space 47 Thai Thinh 1
     to UNIS

     Art-talk is a new initiative of GreenZoom in a serie of group
     educational activities, aims to bring artistic knowledge and
     experience to participants and enhance their spiritual values.

     Art-talk theme is broad, ranging from traditional art, contemporary
     art, to community art,…. Talks are organized in form of open
     discussions such as friendly conversations focusing on
     reciprocating, sharing and bringing experience for the participants
     and reflecting GreenZoom spirit of “Sharing & Creating”.

     /- Introduction about Phan Y Ly:/



     Born in 1981, Phan Y Ly is the first Vietnamese woman to study MA
     Theatre for Development in the UK as a Chevening scholar. She has 4
     years of experience in development work and community theatre with
     UNDP, international organisations in Vietnam and abroads. Ly is now
     a freelance consultant on using arts for individual and social
     transformation in Vietnam and a co-moderator of the Art for
     Development Vietnam e-list.



     In Vietnam , she is well-known for the project “My life, my view”.
     In this project, a group of young children aged 10-14 from the
     floating village in the Middle Bank of Red River has been given a
     camera to express their thoughts and feelings and communicate about
     their life to wider society. Their community film titled “Green
     Meadow” was then widely introduced to public.
