Socio-Economic Development Strategy (SEDS) formulation on the media


Announcement for Expressions of Interest in a series of training courses on 
research plan management, advance research methodologies, presentation skills to 
high-level policy makers, policy debate and public consultation facilitation and 
management, and media techniques to cover national Socio-Economic Development 
Strategy (SEDS) formulation on the media.

In an attempt to support Vietnam on reviewing the implementation of 
Socio-Economic Development Strategy (SEDS) 2001 – 2010 and formulating SEDS 2011 
– 2020, UNDP and the MPI have jointly developed the “Support for the Formulation 
of Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2011-2020” Project. Implemented by the 
Development Strategy Institute (DSI) under MPI, the project will provide 
technical assistance to the SEDS Drafting Team and hence the SEDS Sub-Committee 
to help formulate an evidence-based SEDS with broad participation and 
contribution of the public. Among various technical assistance activities are a 
series of training courses for SEDS Drafting Team and DSI staff to help them 
effectively manage and facilitate the research, policy debate, and public 
consultation processes. Besides, for the purpose of promoting public 
consultation and participation, the project will also provide training to 
pressmen to cover SEDS formulation on the media effectively. The project seeks 
to commission 4 major training courses as detailed in the attached Call for 
Expression of Interest.

The work will be commissioned on the basis of a Long-Term Agreement (or retainer 
contract) with an international or domestic institution for up to three (3) 
months, tentatively starting from February 2009.

At this stage in the process DSI seeks expressions of interest from qualified 
institutions. Submissions should demonstrate relevant expertise and experience 
in the fields required.
