I have received the following press release which you may wish to know
about and to spread even wider.

"An International Symposium on 'Higher Education in Third World Countries:
Challenges of 21st Century' is being organised from 9th to 11th April 1995
by the Faculty of Education, Centre for Distance Education and Special
Education Centre for the Mentally Handicapped, Osmania University,
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.  The symposioum is open for Educators,
Policy Makers, Administrators, Teachers, Environmental Consultants,
Physicians, Social Scientists, Research Scholars, etc.  Papers are invited
in the areas such as Restructuring of Higher Education;  Research in Higher
Education; Restructuring of Curriculum; Role of Universities in Higher
Education; Improving University Teaching; Decentralization of Higher
Education; etc.  The last date for submission of the abstract is
15-01-1995.  Those interested may write for the details to Prof. R. Krishna
