Lingnan College is a degree conferring tertiary institution of higher
education which offers honours bachelor degrees and postgraduate research
programmes to Masters level in its Faculties of Arts, Business and Social
Sciences.  The College is developing as an internationally recognised
Liberal Arts University.

As part of its Teaching and Learning Improvement Initiatives, the College
invites applications for the following posts:

Visiting Teaching Scholars, funded by Lingnan Foundation, New York and
Lingnan College (two posts).  Posts Ref: (Post 1: 96/075/VTS) (Post 2:
96/076/VTS)

Applicants should be prepared to lead a teaching development project in one
or more of the following areas: student assessment, curriculum/course
review, thesis and project supervision.

The appointees will work with Lingnan academics in a staff development
context in relation to the process and outcomes of the project.

Applicants for the above posts should have a Ph.D. degree preferably in
Education, plus at least 5 years teaching and research experience in
tertiary education.  Excellent communication and presentation skills are
essential.

Terms and conditions

Monthly Basic Salary: HK$40,755 (fixed)

Benefits include housing in staff quarters (with appointee contributing 7.5%
of monthly salary towards the provision of housing), medical and dental.
Passage allowance will be paid for appropriate appointees.

Post 1 will be for a period of six months from January to June 1997.
Post 2 will be for a period of nine months from September 1997 to June 1998.
