Second Northumbria Assessment Conference

The Second Northumbria Assessment Conference: 3-5 September 1997

This Conference will focus on Encouraging Partnership in Assessing
Learning9 and will include a mix of keynote presentations, seminars
and workshops. It will be of interest to both academic staff who plan
and undertake assessment and those who manage assessment at
departmental and institutional level. We invite contributions from
those who wish to report on research, development and innovation in
assessment, or offer issue or problem-focussed sessions in the seminar
and workshop slots. All such sessions will be 50 minutes in length.
Some of the themes likely to be addressed are:

        Involving students in assessment Peer, self and co-assessment;
Assessment in the workplace and the community
  Using technology in assessment
  Developing assessment skills for life long learners
  Assessment and feedback
  Sharing and using assessment criteria
  Using learning contracts and negotiated assignments
  Using assessment to promote learning
Other topics relevant to the theme of partnership will be welcome.

If you would like to make a proposal for a seminar or workshop please
send the following details by 31st March 1997.

Workshop - session involving delegate activity )

Title ; Outline(up to 150 words) ; Special facilities required(All
rooms will contain an overhead projector, flipchart and whiteboard)
