This position contributes to the provision of academic development
activities for staff and students designed to enhance student learning.
These activities will include designing and presenting workshops, preparing
resources and providing support and consultancy for both students and staff
on all aspects of teaching and learning including the evaluation of
teaching.  Responsibilities also include assisting in the development of
organisational policies and practices related to improving the quality of
teaching and learning and undertaking research relevant to the work of the
Centre.

Essential:  Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
professional qualification or experience; demonstrated experience in
providing workshops and programs on evaluating and improving teaching, and
on developing students' learning/literacy skills; understanding of current
issues in higher education teaching and academic development work;
expertise in a particular area of academic development such as the
assessment of learning or the evaluation of teaching; excellent
interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills; ability to exercise
initiative in a dynamic environment.  An understanding and knowledge of
employment and student equity issues in a multicultural environment
together with an understanding of OH&S issues related to the position are
also required.
