HERDSA: Research Fellow position

Monash University is seeking a Research Fellow to assist with the
design of the statistical aspects of research projects and with
preparation of grant applications.            

POSITION TITLE:		RESEARCH FELLOW
CLASSIFICATION:		Level A
FACULTY:		INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
UNIT:			COMPUTING EDUCATION RESEARCH GROUP
CAMPUS:			CAULFIELD

POSITION PURPOSE:
To assist Computing Education Research Group (CERG) members with the
design of the statistical aspects of research projects and with
preparation of grant applications.  To assist with the creation and
maintenance of a CERG database and associated infrastructure to
support CERG research.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
A Masters degree or PhD in Education or social sciences.  Experience
in teaching at tertiary level, and experience in designing and
implementing Web pages are also  desirable.

SPECIALIST SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough knowledge of educational methodologies and statistical
techniques relevant to analysing data collected in educational
experiments.

Skills in developing measures of educational effectiveness, e.g.
surveys, questionnaires, interviews.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To act as advisor on educational methodologies and statistical
techniques for CERG research projects. To present seminars on
educational methodologies and statistical analysis techniques. To
create generic Web-based forms, etc. that can be used by many research
projects. To create and maintain a database of information related to
computing education research.

POSITION DIMENSION:
The appointee will report to the leader of the Computing Education
Research Group.
