Volunteer for Book Review

I've been sent a new book entitled Calling Academia to Account Rights and
Responsibilies by G R Evans an historian and theologian at Cambridge
University .It is published by SRHE/ OU and will be available in
Australia in May costing $59.95. I am looking for someone who would be
prepared to review the book for the July issue of HERDSA News (dealine 31
May). I would prefer someone in either Australia or NZ as the book is
writtten from UK experience and it would be good to get some comment on
application down under.

Just to give you some idea about the book here is an extract from the
back cover:

`The very purpose of universities is being called into question by recent
changes in the ways they are run and funded, the way their standards are
maintained, and the assumptions upon which they do their teaching and
research. Calling big institutions to account is not easy. It takes a
sharp eye for detail and both boldness and persistence on the part of the
whistle blower. But it is important that universities should be
accountable, and Calling Academia to Account explores this issue
comprehensively.'

If anyone is interested in taking on this task please contact me direct
by email and I will mail the book to you. The good thing is you get to
keep the review copy.

Looking forward to hearing from somebody
