National Student Administration & Teaching Support 

  A vacancy exists for a Teaching Consultant to join a team which develops
and promotes standards and models for programme development and delivery.
This team plays an important role in the implementation of the University's
flexible learning and teaching strategy.

  Position Overview
                         A vacancy exists for an experienced Teaching
Consultant in the Instructional
                         Design Unit, a division of the National Student
Administration and Teaching
                         Support (NSATS) Section. 

                         The position will provide assistance to academic
staff for developing and
                         promoting standards and models for programme
development and delivery. This
                         includes consulting and advising course writers in
materials development and
                         instructional design for Web and multimedia
delivery. This area contributes to the
                         implementation of flexible learning and teaching.
The Instructional Design Unit
                         provides support in the form of quality assurance
for the production of study
                         materials and in terms of staff training for the
University's Training and
                         Development Unit. 

                         A tertiary qualification is essential, preferably
at a postgraduate level. Expertise
                         and experience in instructional design, adult
teaching and the delivery of distance
                         or flexible education is also required. Previous
experience with copyright
                         clearance would be an advantage
