LECTURER IN HIGHER EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (REF: A67/01)
CENTRE FOR STAFF DEVELOPMENT
As part of its commitment to excellence in teaching and research, The
University of Western Australia provides services, through its Centre for
Staff Development, to over 2,000 academic, administrative and support
staff. The Centre is highly regarded and plays a strategic role in shaping
the University's future. It provides a comprehensive range of high quality
and innovative development opportunities in the fields of teaching and
learning, research and research support (including research supervision),
leadership and management and general career development. The Centre
incorporates a self-directed development facility for staff of the
University and makes significant use of information technology to provide a
range of flexible learning opportunities. Further details can be found on

the area of leadership and management and at least one more of the broad
areas identified above. Excellent credentials as a staff developer are also
required. An appropriate tertiary qualification is essential and experience
working in a higher education institution is highly desirable. The
successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a high level of
scholarship in the work they are required to do. Applicants are requested
to submit a portfolio of material as part of their application to
illustrate their effectiveness in teaching and/or staff development. This
appointment is offered as a fixed-term contract to 31 December 2002.
Subject to the completion of restructuring activities being undertaken by
the University, the position may subsequently be available on a tenurable

SALARY RANGE: Lecturer Level B $52,285 - $62,090 p.a.
