HERDSA POST:Important message to listserve members

Dear members of the HERDSA listserve

First, my apologies for the messages that have gone out in error out in
error yesterday and today.  They were intended for the postmaster of the
listserve - I was making contact to change arrangements for this HERDSA
listserve, as the following decisions were made at the recent meeting of
the HERDSA Executive Committee:

1.  That all HERDSA members automatically become a member of this HERDSA
listserver. (If you are not currently a HERDSA member, see item 4 below).

2.  That this listserver be used more to communicate with members - to
include more general messages about HERDSA activities and matters, as well
as the 'positions vacant' and conference notices it has tended to be used
for in the past.

3.  Roger Landbeck, the HERDSA News editor, has offered to act as moderator
of the list.  Most messages you receive from now on will have his name as
sender, not mine!  A reminder of how to post messages to the list:

Send your message to the address:
herdsa@listproc.anu.edu.au

or directly to Roger, asking him to post it on your behalf:
landbeck@ozemail.com.au


4.  Some current subscribers to this list are not members of HERDSA.  You
are welcome to continue subscribing to this list.  You will however need to
resubscribe by sending an email to:

listproc@listproc.anu.edu.au

The subject line should be left blank. 
The message should say:

subscribe HERDSA Firstname Lastname

where you substitute your first name and last name.
