Chris Rust sent notice of this year's Improving Learning conference. It
should have gone out last week-sorry Chris, can you offer an extension on
the final submission date for papers?
This is just a reminder that the closing date for submissions for the
12th Improving Learning Symposium to be held on the 6-8 September 2004
at The Jury's Inn Hotel, Birmingham, is the 31st January 2004.

The role of Lecturer is to provide professional development in teaching and
learning for VUW's casual and sessional staff (including tutors, sessional
assistants, language tutors, teaching assistants, laboratory demonstrators,
and other part-time or limited-term teaching staff) and support the work of
the UTDC in the specific areas of academic development, policy advice,
consultation, and research into teaching and learning.
Applicants should possess a post-graduate degree, preferably in an area
related to higher education. Applicants should also have experience in
teaching in a higher education setting, with recent tutoring and/or Tutor
Coordination experience and experience in workshop and project design,
facilitation and evaluation.
