Writing Research Across Borders
An Interdisciplinary Conference

The Writing Research Across Borders Conference will bring together 550 research presenters that represent over 30 nations.  Its 150 panels will represent research on writing at all levels of development, employing approaches from the social sciences, sciences and humanities.  The conference will provide opportunities to share findings, seek common agendas, and lay the groundwork for future communication and alliances.

Diversity and Commonality in Higher Education

Routledge is pleased to announce that Issues 5 and 6 of Teaching in Higher Education will be a combined Special Issue.

What is diversity in higher education? Should it be celebrated or problematised? Are there limitations in current understandings? Has the language of diversity come to preclude the embracing of different forms of knowledge and ways of knowing?

The Special Issue of Teaching in Higher Education 2007 invited contributions which critically address issues of diversity and commonality in higher education, including essays, studies of practice and reflexive accounts which:
 - attempt to reveal hidden assumptions behind commonly accepted views in order to show why they should be rejected
 - engage with, explore, and destabilise discourses, values, and practices
 - question taken-for-granted concepts and methods
 - suggest new forms of enquiry and syntheses
 - imagine better futures
