Carrick Institute Competitive Grants Program 2008
Closing date for Expressions of Interest and Full Proposals is 27 March 2008. Applications should be submitted directly via our grants application system at http://www.carrickinstitute.edu.au/carrick/go/home/grants/pid/53
A sample application form and instructions for its completion are available to download. We recommend that you allow sufficient time to complete your online application so that Grants Scheme staff will be able to assist with any queries.
Applications must be received by 5pm (AEST) on the closing date.

Reminder! International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSoTL) 2008 Call for Proposals
Apologies for cross postings.
ISSoTL has been contacted by a number of people who have been unable to meet the March 17th deadline for submission of proposals. In an effort to provide all scholars with an opportunity to share their knowledge and research the ISSoTL Board and Conference Organizers have agreed to extend the deadline to Tuesday, March 31st.

EDU-COM 2008 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Edith Cowan University, Khon Kaen University and Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University take pleasure in announcing the fourth in the series of EDU-COM conferences to be held in Khon Kaen, Thailand from 19-21 November 2008.
Enforcing the previous conferences, the theme this year is Sustainability in Higher Education: Directions for Change. Conference sub-themes to be covered in concurrent sessions include:
* Community as a Resource for Sustainability
* Interdisciplinary Initiatives for Sustainability
* Innovations in Learning and Teaching for Sustainability
* Entrepreneurship for Sustainability in Higher Education
EDU-COM has secured inspiring keynote speakers from four countries.
You have an opportunity to publish your paper/articles in an international refereed proceedings (ISBN 0-7298-0654-5). Abstracts are to be submitted directly via the conference website. All papers are double blind refereed and accepted papers will be published in the 2008 Conference Proceedings, made available to conference participants as a CD. The review process will pay attention to: the importance of the paper topic, relevance of the literature cited, paper aims and objectives, research methodology and research question (if relevant to the paper type), level of analysis, findings, readability and citation support.
Deadlines:
. Date for final submission of full paper is 18 July 2008
. Notification of acceptance/rejection 18 August 2008
. Submission changes to be received by 1 September 2008

You are invited to develop proposals for reviewed papers, non-reviewed papers, and posters around the themes:
My Place (Distance) Focus on issues associated with the geographic and physical separation of learner(s) and teacher(s) - distribution of resources, student support, and issues of time (zones).
My Space (Virtual) Focus is on the use of online environments, synchronous and asynchronous tools and Web2.0 applications as "spaces" for learning.
Also the emergence of Personal Learning Environments (PLEs), along with conventional LMS and VLE applications are a focus.
My Learning (Education) Focusing on issues of pedagogy and learning theory, curriculum, and learning design. This includes formal and informal learning as well as issues of quality and personalising learning.
