Journal of International and Comparative Environmental Law </i>(MqJICEL) is
published by the Macquarie University School of Law. It is a specialist journal
providing a forum for scholarly dialogue concerning both global and regional
environmental issues. </span></p>

invite submission of articles for Volume 8 Issue 2, 2012 edition of MqJICEL to
be published in December 2012. The Journal welcomes submissions from academics, researchers,
practitioners and students on all topics relating to legal and governance issues
in the field of international and comparative environmental law. The Editors
seek high-quality, original contributions of law and policy analysis, including

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">The Journal
publishes articles, shorter papers, case notes, brief reports on recent
developments and book reviews. Articles should be between <u><span style="color:blue">7,000 and 10,000 words </span></u>in length. Shorter papers
should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words. Case notes, reports on recent
developments and book reviews should be approximately 1,500 words. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif""> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><u><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:blue">All
articles and shorter papers submitted for consideration are subject to a formal
process of peer review by at least two academic referees with expertise in the
relevant field. </span></u><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">The review process may take up to 6 weeks, and Editors
will notify authors of the final publication decision as soon as possible. Case
notes and reports on recent developments will not normally be peer-reviewed.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif""> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">All manuscripts
should be submitted as email attachments to The Editors (</span><a href="mailto:mqjicel@mq.edu.au"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">mqjicel@mq.edu.au</span></a><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">) in
Microsoft Word format only. <u><span style="color:blue">Manuscripts must
include an abstract (of approximately 200 words) on a separate page together
with a 200 word biography in relation to the author(s)</span></u>. The format
for referencing <u><span style="color:blue">must</span></u><i>
</i>adhere to the style outlined in the <i>Australian
Guide to Legal Citation</i> (AGLC) 3<sup>rd</sup> Edition.</span></p>

assumed that submitted manuscripts contain original unpublished material and

<p><span style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">The Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, Faculty of Law, is seeking to appoint a <a href="http://www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/-17671/" target="_blank"><strong><span style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:blue;text-decoration:none">Research and Publications Assistant</span></strong></a> to work under the guidance of the Director of the Lauterpacht Centre, <a href="http://www.lcil.cam.ac.uk/people/marc_weller.php" target="_blank">Professor Marc Weller</a>, on <em><span style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">inter alia</span></em> a major project concerning legal tools for peace-making, and to support a variety of publications projects undertaken by the Director.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">The legal tools project, run in cooperation with the United Nations Department of Political Affairs, anticipates the need during peace negotiations to research past peace settlements and experiences, along with the applicable legal standards, in each new set of negotiations. The project should result in a range of outputs, including an analytical database of materials, case studies addressing the major topical issue areas concerning peace agreements and a handbook on peace settlements. The project is funded with assistance from Humanity United and the Newton Trust and will run from July 2012 to May 2014, with a possible extension if additional funding can be found. <u></u><u></u></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"">Candidates should hold at least a Masters degree in a pertinent discipline. Experience and expertise in peace-making and post-conflict peace-building would be of advantage, as would a working knowledge of French and/or Spanish.
