Last week, I posted to Link a copy of a Broadband Bob report
regarding Optus Vision and LANcity. Today (20 November) I spoke with
Chris Muldoon, Optus Vision's Director of Corporate Communications.
Chris told me that the report in "Business Sydney" which was quoted
by Broadband Bob was totally untrue. He also said that Optus Vision
is yet to announce any major strategic partnerships in this area.
Chris may be contacted by phone on +61 2 9775 9981.
Apparently the Broadband Bob report was sourced from an article in
"Business Sydney", which I have been told was based on background
information from an unnamed source. The Internet is a fantastic
rumour mill!
Next time I will check more carefully before posting something like
this. I had assumed that Broadband Bob had reliable information from
well connected sources. Probably he figured that "Business Sydney"
had similarly reliable sources. No-doubt "Business Sydney" figured
their source was well connected too . . .
