Media release <URL:http://www.acs.org.au/news/global.htm> "Computer
Societies Agree on International Cooperation - 24 November 1996, Cambridge
UK - The world's leading computer societies have agreed to investigate ways
of making their publications and research outcomes globally accessible..."

What it doesn't say in the media release is that I showed Australian work
<URL:http://www.acs.org.au/president/1996/epubs/welcome.html#cite2n> at the
meeting. As a result I got "volunteered" to write the white paper on
"Universal Publications Database" by the end of April, with Roger Johnson
(CEPIS), Bernard Rous (ACM) and Joe DeBlasi (ACM).

This would be an index to all published material from participating computer
societies around the world. What I had in mind was to use the approach
developed for government material

and assistance welcome.
