Hi Robin
I don't have the technical knowledge myself but haven't Energis in the UK
been doing this over the former National Grid for several years now? I
believe the UK's largest ISP, Demon,
also uses them for Internet access using vPOPs provided over the Energis
network. Energis is a subsidiary company of Powergen - the new owners of the
grid.
