You do realise, don't you, that "Waltzing Matilda" is early German Army
sub-text for masterbation.

In the German Army, your sleeping bag was named "Matilda" in the same way
some males keep a "Sheila" at home in the form of a blow-up doll.

I don't know how Banjo Patterson ever managed to convince the puritans of
his day that "Walzing Matilda" mean walking with a swag, rather than
wanking in a swag.  But he succeeded.

So this country must be the only one in the world to have a national song
in celebration of wanking.  That certainly fits the political climate.
