Further to my last posting, ZDNET appears to concur with the cookie "aware"
mob with their today update containing the following:

Oh yeah, in the interests of decreasing bandwidth ;) I have removed all
the cc's (mainly coz the cc list was gettin' longer the messages). I left
pathfinder.com in due to the fact that I couldnt find them on the Links
members list and I would really like to surf Time without those damn
little windows popping up quite so damn often. In fact its those stupid
little cookie windows that keep me away from Pathfinder.

I've been visiting with Web advertising insiders about
their plans and I hate what I'm hearing. So will
you. Some of their new ways to annoy you into submission
include interstitials, multimedia ads and other "beyond
the banner" brainstorms. The real answer is personalization.
Let's hope someone listens before they wreck it for
     all of us.
