Communications Research Forum, 2-3 October, 1997, Old Parliament House,
Canberra.
The Communications Research Forum is the premier annual event for the exchange
of ideas on Communications Policy Research.
The Forum provides a not-to-be-missed opportunity for researchers,
decision-makers and service providers to come together in a stimulating
environment for the exchange of ideas, research findings and latest
developments in communications policies. Those attending will have an
opportunity to share information and ideas with those personally involved in
shaping serious debate on Australian communications and cultural policies.
This year's program builds on the successful format of previous years. The
keynote speaker is Prof. Allan Fels, Chairman of the Australian Competition
and Consumer Commission. An exciting range of papers has been selected from
the offerings of respected research practitioners in Australia. The research
papers are supplemented with two major policy discussion panels on Australian
content on Pay TV and Telecommunications Deregulations and USOs.
The Research Round Table is another innovation in this year's program. Time
has been set aside to facilitate the exchange of ideas on current research.
Research practitioners will have an opportunity to make short presentations
and discuss their current projects with other researchers having similar
interests.
While conference fees of up to $2000 are commonplace, the $350 fee for the CRF
must be the best bargain around. This is an all-inclusive price and entitles
delegates to attend all sessions over two days, including a sumptuous dinner
on the evening of Thursday 2 October. We have gone against trends with a fee
that is less than that for the 1996 forum. Prices have been kept to a minimum
to enable the participation of researchers and non-profit organisations.
The Conference commences 9 am Thursday 2 October. As numbers must be
finalised for catering purposes, your registration form and payment must be
received by Thursday 25 September to ensure your place. Papers will be
distributed at the forum.
Mail your completed form & cheque for $350 payable to Receiver of Public
Monies, to:
