I wish the spin doctors would stop generating new names for Internet
Commerce (I-Commerce). "The Digital Economy" and "Digital Commerce" are 2
new ones. Any literal interpretation of these words would denote trade in
digital products. The term "the Information Economy" also denotes this.
The Emerging Digital Economy report is largely about internet mediated trade
in atomic products. Sloppy terminology encourages sloppy thinking. I'm also
really tired of hearing about Amazon & Cisco. Are they the only examples of
successful I-Commerce anyone can think of? Of course it's not PC to refer to
the flourishing trade in digital porn except in the context of content
regulation:->
