Having just done my bit of judging for the internet awards I suspect if the
get their bandwidth we will move from sites which are slow and hideous to
ones which are fast and hideous. That is not to say I did not see some
extremely well crafted and elegant sites but I did seem some which seemed
to take the attitude that if there was a flashy trick it should be used,
often, and in different colours. Blinking text and animation were very
popolar but all they seemed to do was to distract from, and some cases
obscure, the text that the site was delivering.
