PRIVACY ROW
Big row in US Internet circles over the Platform for Privacy Preferences
(P3P) technology, which would let consumers and sites automatically
negotiate what happens to personal consumer data. Some thought it was being
developed as a standard by a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) committee -
but Intermind says it expects to get a US patent on it any day now and will
be looking for minimum royalties of $50,000 a year. More on the imbroglio
