SPOOF ON AOL CAUSES MISROUTED MAIL
Someone impersonating an America Online individual authorized to change
AOL's InterNIC records caused thousands of e-mail messages intended for AOL
customers to be misrouted to the Internet service provider Autonet.net. AOL
discovered the problem and corrected it, and says that all misdirected
messages should eventually be delivered to the proper recipients. The
company is working with legal authorities to identify the perpetrator.
